The Captive tells the story of a prisoner of war being held in a military stronghold, but the strongest prisons are not made from bricks and bars but from what a person thinks he can’t live without.

Our most ambitious short film, The Captive was shot at the abandoned Nashville Prison on Death Row.  We enlisted the help of a 15+ military soldiers and Tommy Duncan who acted as our military liaison and advisor.

Because this was a cautionary tale, I mixed up the races of the soldiers and languages used in the prison. I didn’t want you to feel like he was being held by one particular nation or group.

Robbie Davis played the role of our captive and was beyond willing to give for the project.  While the conditions are made to look more severe- he’s endured long hours, cold floors and day old oat meal.
